A trip to northern Patagonia, around towns Bariloche and Puerto Mont. The area is not as known outside of Argentina and Chile and so the tourists are usually "locals." And it is just so different than Patagonia in the south.
Around Bariloche
Pictures from a trip from an intriguing place called Colonia Suiza to Refugio Italia Manfredo Segre and from a trek from a ski resort above Bariloche to Refugio Emilio Frey. We've been surprised by how hot and dry the mountains were, despite being just above huge lakes.
Around Volcán Osorno
We took a bus across the mountains from Bariloche to Chile where we wandered a bit around Volcán Osorno. We were walking in between the volcano and lake Lago Todos Los Santos, in Puerto Varaz and also in Puerto Mont.
Trek to Refugio Otto Meiling
Two day trek to reach the glacier of Cerro Tronador, the mountain that dominates the entire area. Specifically I walked from a place called Pampa Linda to mountain hut Refugio Otto Meiling. The next day I returned down the same way.
